It’ll be Cakes with Faces’ last event of the year (I’ve decided to do fewer shows, to give me more time to focus on other things). But if you can’t make it, you can still get everything here online!
MCM London is the UK’s largest comic con. It’s not just about comics – it’s about all kinds of “geek” culture: anime, manga, video games, tabletop board games, cosplay, Japanese kawaii, indie artists, cult TV and films.
If you’ve only been to smaller, regional cons, MCM London is HUGE. It takes up two large halls on both sides of ExCel. Over 130, 000 people visit over the weekend. You’ll see loads of cosplayers and all sorts of interesting things. It’s definitely an escape from reality!

There are stalls selling all kinds of things: anime figures, Japanese sweets, t-shirts, cute plushies, comics, books, games and all kinds of merchandise you don’t usually see in high street shops.
Usually the special guests are announced quite late on – they can’t confirm until last minute due to filming schedules. Keep an eye on the MCM website and their Twitter feed to catch them as they’re announced. Here are a few so far:

Comic Con London 2022: Saturday's Coolest Cosplay
Come to our booth to see all my designs and say hello! You can get my t-shirts, hoodies, dresses, accessories, cushions and almost everything in the online shop (except some of the older designs – there isn’t room!). You can have a look at everything here online.
I’ll be there the whole weekend so feel free to come and have a chat about my designs, my videos or Japan! Sometimes it gets busy at the stall, so if it’s crowded just come back a bit later and you might find it’s a lot quieter.
If you’re coming along, take a note of where to find my stall. Every time there’s always at least one person who messages me afterwards saying they couldn’t find my stall. The show really is huge and it’s so easy to miss out whole sections, so make a note of where to find me!
Minibus Or Coach Hire Transport To Mcm Comic Con
Comic con is at ExCel, a large exhibition centre in London. You can get there easily on the train. Take the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) to Custom House or Prince Regent. Both are right by the ExCel. As soon as you get on the DLR you’ll see lots of cosplayers and other people going to the con, so just follow the crowds!

Anime Convention Events In London, Vereinigtes Königreich
There are food stalls all along the centre of ExCel. Be warned, they are prety expensive (as you’d expect at a convention centre). There are also a couple of Japanese food stalls in the Pop Asia section.
You can bring food and snacks with you – it’s recommended to bring a drink to stay hydrated! There’s a Tesco Express outside near ExCel, but it can get pretty busy.
More and more stalls do take cards now, but not all of them. It’s best to bring cash with you just in case. There are cash machines but the queues can be long – and you don’t want to waste your day standing in line for the ATM!
Comic Con: How The World's Biggest Comic Book Convention Became Big Business
You can get tickets online from the MCM website. There are single day and weekend tickets. You can get general entry or priority entry, which gets you in an hour or two earlier, as well as a few other benefits like discounts on comic con merchandise.
Tickets often sell out, especially for Saturday, so get your tickets in advance – don’t wait to get them on the door.
Friday is always the quietest day, so come on Friday to avoid the crowds. Saturday is usually the busiest, especially around the middle of the day.
